About ME

I am a freelance journalist and editor, based in London. Alongside this, I am the author of the popular Well, Actually… newsletter, which has been named a Substack Featured Publication.

My specialist area is health and wellness content - however I have written across all aspects of lifestyle, including beauty and travel, and current affairs for numerous leading titles. My work has been published in Women’s Health, The Times, Daily Telegraph, New Scientist, Men’s Health, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Body + Soul, Stylist, Glamour, Grazia, Red, Dazed Digital, Yahoo Life, The Sun’s Fabulous, Woman & Home, Get The Gloss, Homes & Gardens, GoodtoKnow, Stylus and Hello!, among others.

Before going freelance, I was the Acting Commissioning Editor for Women’s Health magazine in the UK. While in the role, I penned features and shaped copy on a broad range of wellness topics - from nutrition and fitness, to health conditions and mental wellbeing. I also co-produced the magazine’s popular Going For Goal podcast, which was shortlisted for the best Health & Wellbeing Podcast at the Publisher Podcast Awards 2021.

My career as a journalist has seen me amass extensive print and digital editorial experience. I have interviewed top experts in their fields, as well as ordinary people with incredible stories, and household names - like Heidi Klum, Robin Sharma and Jessie J. I have a passion for crafting long-form features that require detailed, in-depth research as well as weaving together a range of perspectives - and which, often, push me out of my comfort zone.

Through the lens of my bylines over the past decade, that means I have been transformed into a Playboy bunny, trained at an £18,000-a-year gym, attempted to become a pro pole dancer like J-Lo in Hustlers, and been wired up to a machine to demonstrate how Instagram can physically harm your body. I have also investigated the impact of Long Covid on women, and the real story behind ME/ CFS, as well as exploring how the pandemic affected those on the waiting list for a hysterectomy and the ways in which the threat of male violence harms women’s mental health.

I’ve also opened up about my experience of twenty-something hair loss, revealed why clear skin is a privilege, delved into the way in which social media is influencing drinking habits and exposed the dark side of meditation. More recently, I loved charting the party girl glow-up trend, testing out the virtues of adaptogenic coffee, investigating the truth behind the weight loss medication dominating Hollywood, exploring the rise of the ‘heartbreak’ industry and analysing the growth of ‘social wellness’.

Alongside this, I have also taken on commercial writing work for The Guardian, Marie Claire, Woman & Home and Dazed Digital. Similarly, I have produced content for brands including Huel and Vitality, and been a guest columnist for Roxhill Media. I have also appeared as an expert panellist for Curzon, been interviewed on the Love Through It podcast and as a fitness expert for Canvas8. In 2022 and 2023, I hosted talks on the HealthConf stage at Web Summit. You can watch me moderating here:
